APPROVED PART Q
Nine Zero’s sliding sash windows are now certificated to meet Approved Document Q – Security.
All plans or building notices submitted after 1st October 2015 have to comply with Part Q, which relates to any door or window installed in a ‘dwelling’ (including flats and apartments) and which can be easily accessed by a burglar, including balcony and casement doors, and units installed above flat or gently sloping roofs within 3.5m of ground level.
Our high performance, tried and tested timber windows now carry additional security features that meet the requirements of Document Q Building Regulations, for the new build housing sector.
The security standard demanded by Building Regulations, to which products are tested, is known as PAS24 but prior to this all products must be tested and rated for weather and air tightness to meet BS6375 (Parts 1 & 2).
While the requirement to meet Part Q applies for new buildings only, existing home owners will want these security benefits applied to replacement products for the upkeep and maintenance of their properties as well as for major refurbishments and extensions.
timber windows and doors made in accordance with their standards will last for 60 years or more and that, over time, will be carbon negative. With the benefits of double glazing, and optional glass specification, these products offer ultimate levels of thermal and acoustic performance and security to give you peace of mind.
