FSC History

The Forest Stewardship Council was established in 1993 in Toronto, to stop deforestation, where a group of businesses, environmentalists and community leaders came together to create the organisation.

Today, FSC operates in more than 80 countries. Members vote on the policy, standards and governance of FSC.

Today, more than 380 million acres of forest are certified under FSC’s system.

Sustainability is at the forefront of our manufacturing process, sourcing FSC rated materials right across the board, as well as recycling all timber waste on the surrounding farms and providing a source of renewable energy to the local dwellings.

Because FSC is the gold standard in forest certification, it is the only system supported by groups such as WWF, Sierra Club, Greenpeace, Natural Resources Defense Council and National Wildlife Federation.
