Energy Efficiency
Choosing timber for your windows is a fantastic way of improving your energy efficiency. Wood is a natural insulator, with very low thermal conductivity, making it ideal for retaining heat. This means timber casement windows are the perfect choice for homeowners looking to reduce their energy costs.
Our casement windows are manufactured with the opening slightly overlapping the frame for excellent gasket compression, helping the windows meet BS 6375:2015 Parts 1 & 2 for weathertightness. With A-rated energy efficiency and U-values as low as 1.0 w/m2K, our timber windows keep any home as efficient as possible.
Timber casement windows from Nine Zero don’t compromise on security. Wood is a naturally strong material, which improves the overall security of the product.
All windows from Nine Zero are fitted with multi-point locking systems and are internally beaded for added peace of mind. Our windows also are certified to PAS 24:2016 and are Document Q compliant, meaning you can meet new Building Regulations and protect the property against any unwanted intruders.
Sustainability
In recent years, climate change is coming increasingly into the limelight, with people more conscious than ever about how they can improve their impact on the environment. Because of this, there has been an increased demand for timber windows and doors, as it has a much lower carbon footprint than alternative materials.
Timber casement windows are ideal for climate-conscious homeowners, or architects and developers looking for sustainable option. We source all our timber from responsible suppliers certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) which protects the world’s forests and woodland, and we also recycle our timber waste on the surrounding farms.
Timber is also the cost-effective option, as research has shown that timber windows are between 14-25% cheaper when considered over the ‘whole life’ cost.
